Overview
Familtory is a family-tree app that works entirely on your device. It does not require an account, and the app itself does not operate any servers. The family information you enter never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself.
Information stored on your device only
- Family data — names, dates, relationships, memos, and photos you add are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device.
- App lock PIN — if you enable App Lock, your PIN is stored on your device in encrypted form protected by the Android Keystore. It is never transmitted anywhere. Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face) is handled by the Android system; the app never sees or stores your biometric data.
- Settings — preferences such as language, colors, and subscription state are stored locally.
- Backups and exports — backup files (.familtory) and exported images (PNG) are created only when you request them, and are saved to the location you choose or shared to the app you choose. You are responsible for files you export or share.
We do not collect, transmit, or sell any of the above.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Familtory shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process data such as:
- Advertising ID (a resettable identifier provided by Android)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
